Overton and Alinafe Siliya, along with their son, Bright, and their daughter, Lexer, come from the Phalombe district (just a couple hours from Namikango). Overton has six brothers. Alinafe (which means “God with us”) has one sister, but both of her parents have passed away. Like many young ladies in Malawi, Alinafe did not complete her high school education, which makes DTI another great learning experience and opportunity for her. Overton completed his high school degree in 2009, and has worked as an electronics repair man, along with farming at home with his wife. They have both come to DTI in order to be more dedicated disciples of Jesus. When asked what they hope to learn while here, they expressed a desire to improve every area of their lives, from the ground up.
When not working, both Overton and Alinafe enjoy singing and listening to music. Overton hopes to become an elder and leader in the church, and Alinafe to equip and teach women the Word of God.

Overton: Jeremiah 17:5 - "It encourages me to not fear man, but God himself."
Alinafe: Jeremiah 1:5 - "My life is filled with joy knowing that He knew me before I was even born."
