Victor Elliot and his three brothers come from the Blantrye district of Malawi, about an hour from Namikango. Victor came to Namikango to play with the Namikango Lions soccer team. Motivated by the last DTI cohort and individuals from that group who also played soccer with him, a desire to learn more about the Word of God grew and he applied for the program. Victor’s is just one of the inspiring stories that has come as a result of the impact that the Namikango Football team and DTI are having on the local community. Victor graduated high school in 2017, and has since worked as an elementary school teacher, volunteered at a local research center, and acquired his driver’s license and certificates of training in auto mechanics. In his free time, Victor loves to listen to music, read, and of course, play football (soccer). He hopes that by coming to the DTI program, he will gain greater wisdom in how to interpret Scripture, grow as a disciple of Jesus, become equipped to share God’s word with others, and hopefully, to become a theologian.
