Kasten and Esther, along with their son, Brevious, have come from Ntchisi district in the central region of Malawi. Kasten has two
brothers and three sisters. Esther has two brothers. Kasten completed his high school degree in 2019. Esther, like many young Malawian women, did not complete her high school education, which makes DTI another great learning experience and opportunity for her. Both Kasten and Esther farm at home to help provide for their needs, growing a variety of crops. In their free time, Kasten enjoys reading, playing football (soccer) and singing, while Esther enjoys playing netball and reading the Bible, from which she gains a lot of peace. When asked what they hope to learn while at Namikango, they expressed a desire to grow in their own spiritual lives, to gain a greater understanding of Scripture, and to gain a deeper understanding of how God views us as his people. Kasten hopes to be a college professor some day, as well as a leader and preacher in the church, helping to bring people to Jesus. Esther hopes to use what she learns at DTI to become a teacher who works with other women, helping them to grow spiritually and in their knowledge of the word of God.
