United in Prayer

By November 9, 2024No Comments

Prayer is an integral part of the lives of the Namikango Mission staff. Once a month, the staff sets aside a day of prayer and fasting, and one Friday a month, Namikango staff join together for an additional time of prayer. On the Friday meeting, we pray for coworkers, ministries, and the churches and people of Malawi, as well as prayers for the nations.

This year, in November, the International Conference on Missions (ICOM) will be held in Lexington, Kentucky. Leaders from ICOM are mobilizing mission sites from around the world to participate in seeing God’s reign come more fully on earth, through prayer and by connecting leaders from these different ministries through a monthly Zoom call.

On November 16th, all these leaders and disciples around the world will join together in spirit for a time of prayer, worship, and participation in the Lord’s supper. It will be one large declaration that we are not alone as we seek to make Christ known to the world and to acknowledge that God is moving and working.

The leadership team at Namikango has already begun working towards this vision with these monthly prayer meetings. But what is more, they have invited friends of ours from another amazing organization, Akonda Ministries, to join us in prayer on the Namikango campus. We were connected to Akonda Ministries at ICOM several years ago, through ministry leaders Nathan and Justie Wingfield. Their Malawi director, Klaus Chikufenji, has connected with our leadership team, and together they pray for God’s kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven.

As our brothers and sisters unite in Malawi, we want to thank you for standing with us in unity and prayer. We are all part of this large, global effort to see God’s kingdom advance.
