Women’s Development

Namikango believes that the spiritual development of women in Malawi has long been neglected and must be a leading priority of the church if families and youth are to reach greater reconciliation. To accomplish this goal, the Women’s Development Initiative was established.

Women gather in local congregations for both spiritual and practical training. Group sessions include Scripture studies, singing, lessons on teaching children, and family development skills that can be modeled and passed on to others. These meetings foster fellowship and encouragement, equipping women to be leaders in their homes and communities.

Currently, there are 10 active groups meeting quarterly, involving more than 600 women. Our Women’s Development Officer travels to meet women in their own villages, cultivating relationships and providing ongoing discipleship.

Through these gatherings, women are strengthened in their faith and empowered to live as examples for the next generation—multiplying the impact well beyond each meeting.
